  • 1812 – The report of a Select Committee on transportation, the first study of transportation generally supports Lachlan Macquarie’s liberal policies.
  • 1864 – Austin Chapman, Minister for Defence in the first Deakin Government, is born in Bong Bong, New South Wales.
  • 1908 – John Armstrong, Minister in the Chifley Government and Lord Mayor of Sydney, is born in Ultimo, New South Wales.
