Tsui says construction of the two carriers will begin in 2013 and 2015 and they will be delivered in 2020 and 2022 respectively. Though he says that they will be conventionally powered, there has been speculation that they will be nuclear powered.
He speculates that the existing carrier will be commissioned this year initially for training purpose but can be used for battle when necessary.
