Hong Kong music: Clockenflap and PUSH collaborate on new project

Electriq launches with Top Notch Talent

Electriq launches with Top Notch Talent

Last Saturday marked the launch of a new dance music series titled ‘Electriq,’ birthed by the creative heads over at Clockenflap and Hong Kong’s leading dance music promoters PUSH.

The project was set to launch last month but with the recent events of Occupy Central, it proved that Hong Kong was not in a festive mood, and out of respect and safety for Hong Kong and Electriq’s guests, it was postponed.

With Phil Orbital cancelled for their initial October launch, Electriq needed a new batch of talent, venue, poster and date, so with more planning and an even shorter frame of time to organise the new launch, the team got to work and wowed Hong Kong music junkies with their fresh new line up.

Grammy nominated composer, producer and techno legend, Carl Craig graced the decks on Saturday night till the wee hours of the morning along with Pan-Pot, a Berlin based experimental techno duo from Germany who are proving to be a force to be reckoned with, playing at some of the largest festivals and clubs in Europe such as Amnesia, Tomorrowland and SONAR to name a few.

Over the next few months Electriq promises big names, big tunes, and a ball of a time so don’t miss the boat- and to give you a taste of what Electriq will offer in the future,  they have their very own stage at Hong Kong’s largest and only out-door festival, Clockenflap (which spans 3 days 28th-30th Nov) with names such as MANIK (US) Derrick Carter Does Disco (US) Aeroplane (BE) Magnetic Soul (HK) and LOTS more yet to be announced. (Keep updated here)

Check out the Electriq Facebook page so you can keep up to date with their upcoming projects and event page for this Saturday’s details.
