The following is based on a translation of a report on a Chinese news site:

Chinese news site interviewed Professor Jiang Jianhua, a member of the research team in China’s Huazhong University of Science and Technology, that has developed the anti-stealth radar material for the J-20 aircraft.

Prof. Jiang said that most previous stealth materials are “passive stealth”, i.e. they can only absorb radar signal in a specific waveband, but the material they have developed are “proactive stealth,” meaning that it changes along with the dynamic change of the environment of threat.

According to Prof. Jiang, another advantage of the material is that it’s extremely light and thin, 7.8 millimeter thin less than 1/10 of conventional stealth material.

Therefore, it can be used not only on warplanes and warships but also on mobile phone antennae.

This makes it superior to the stealth material used by the US on the F-35 fighter jet.
