Twelve talented Polish students honoured by China’s Huawei

Huawei, a global leader in providing the latest information and communication technologies, announced the winners of the third Polish edition of the Seeds for the Future conference during an official ceremony at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw.

The Seeds for the Future competition, acting within the framework of Skills Digital, is an international initiative for innovation and technical education, dedicated to university students. It assumes Huawei close cooperation with the scientific and educational communities for the organisation of workshops and training courses for students, talent development and supports universities by providing them with innovative solutions.

Thanks to the program the young talents receive a unique opportunity to gain training courses conducted by the best-in-class experts, as well as the chance to develop a career in the sector of information and communication technologies.

The Seeds for the Future competition involves close cooperation between science and business. This year’s edition was sponsored by the Digitisation Ministry and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The guests of honour at the event were: Jaroslaw Gowin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and Higher Education, Witold Kolodziejski, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Digitisation, Xu Jian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Poland, Wlodzimierz Marcinski, Digitisation Leader of the Ministry of Digitisation and Grzegorz Napieralski, Senator.

The competition started with the students of the best Polish universities, studying telecommunications, computer science or electronics. In the competition they prepared papers on topics related to cyber security, POPC, Smart City, the digital divide and innovative technologies. The leading choice among the students question was cybersecurity – its role and importance in Poland.

For the development of the project, the students had less than two months. The best works were awarded a two-week workshop on cultural studies and technology in China. These courses are taught by top experts in the field of ICT. Winners have the opportunity not only to learn the tradition, culture and Chinese language, but above all to gain practical knowledge they need for the labour market. The best have the opportunity to undergo training in the Polish headquarters of Huawei, and even join the local team of the company.

  10. Paweł Rutkowski Technical University of Lodz
  11. Sławomir Konrad Tadeja Jagiellonian University
  12. Piotr Wegnerowski Poznan University of Technology
